Hot-pour crack sealants are melted in a heated kettle and pumped to the pavement through a hose and wand. A crack sealing material that cools inside an unheated hose thickens, flows unevenly and can solidify, which stops the pump and forces the crew to clear the line before work can continue. Sealant that reaches the crack too cold also wets the crack walls poorly.
An electrically heated hose solves this by adding heat along the entire hose instead of only at the kettle. Jingcheng's 2025 catalog describes the main job of every heated hose as insulation and heat tracing, which prevent resins, oils and other viscous fluids from solidifying, freezing or rising in viscosity. On a crack sealing machine, that means:
Consistent flow at the wand, so the operator can lay an even bead or band.
Less downtime from plugged lines at start-up, during breaks and between jobs.
Controlled temperature set at the controller, rather than relying on the sealant's own heat.

A Jingcheng electrically heated hose is a layered assembly. Each layer has a defined job:
Inner hose: carries the sealant. For the crack sealing hose, Jingcheng uses a proprietary inner-tube reinforcement technique intended to extend the service life of the hose.
Heating layer: uniformly braided heating elements surround the inner hose. The uniform braid minimizes temperature differences along the inner wall, so the sealant does not develop cold spots.
Temperature sensor: a sensor embedded in the hose reports the temperature to the controller, which switches the heating power.
Insulation and outer cover: high-insulation-efficiency materials keep heat inside the hose and are selected with the outer surface temperature in mind.
Fittings and connector: threaded end fittings connect to the pump and wand, and an electrical connector links the heating circuit and sensor to the machine.

Larger diameters reduce flow resistance for thick sealants and long hoses. Smaller diameters give a lighter, more flexible line that is easier to handle at the wand. The pump output, sealant viscosity and hose length together decide the right size.
Every Jingcheng heated hose is built to order. The catalog order form covers the following items, and providing all of them shortens the quotation process.
Rated voltage: 380 Vac, 220 Vac, 110 Vac, 12 Vdc or other. Choose the voltage your machine's generator or power system supplies.
Rated power: 110, 150, 170 or 200 W/m, or other.
Temperature sensor: Type J thermocouple, Type K thermocouple, Ni120, PT100, PT1000 or other. A controller set up for a PT100 input will not read a thermocouple correctly, so the sensor must match the controller already on the machine.
Wiring: the pin number, wire colour and function for both the machine (controller) end and the wand end.
Inner diameter: 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" or 1" for the crack sealing hose (see table above).
Length: 3 m, 4.5 m, 5 m, 6 m, 10 m or other.
End fittings: US, British or metric threads, or other, specified separately for each end.
Maximum working temperature: state the temperature your sealant requires.
Jingcheng heated hoses use a model code such as JCH-200-16-B-3X220-P2-8. In this example, 200 is the working temperature in °C, 16 is the inner diameter in mm, B is the inner tube material (B = stainless steel corrugated tube, TB = PTFE hose with stainless steel braid, T = PTFE hose, X = special material), 3X220 is three-phase four-wire 220 V, P2 is a two-wire PT100 sensor, and 8 is the working pressure in MPa.
A heated hose works as part of a temperature-controlled system. Jingcheng also supplies matching equipment for road maintenance:
Temperature controllers with PID control and either SSR or thyristor output. Options include a waterproof enclosure and voltage or current meters. Separate heating control boxes are available with two, three or more channels, for example to control the hose and a heated wand independently.
Heated spray guns in a 1.2 m long version and a short hand-held version, intended for road maintenance and waterproofing spraying. Special requirements can be customized.
Crack sealing is outdoor work, often in cold or hot weather, with the hose dragged along the road surface. The following practices help a heated hose last:
Respect the bend radius. Bending a heated hose tighter than its rated radius can damage the hose and may cause a short circuit, leakage or fire.
Do not twist the hose. The catalog warns against lateral twisting during and after installation, which can cause leakage, flow loss or hose damage.
Stay within the environmental limits. The standard operating environment is an ambient temperature of −40 °C to +55 °C, relative humidity of 85 % or less, and atmospheric pressure of 86 to 106 kPa. For other environments, ask for a custom build.
Keep connectors clean and dry. Inspect the electrical connector and wiring before each shift.
Use trained operators. Jingcheng recommends that only authorized, trained personnel operate the hose. Unauthorized modification voids the warranty.
Heat the hose before pumping. As general practice, bring the hose up to set temperature before sending sealant through it, so the material does not meet a cold wall.
