Heat-Traced Flue Gas Sample Line for Online Emission Monitoring, IR/UV Analyzers and Laboratory Gas Testing

JINGCHENG Heat-Traced Flue Gas Sample Line keeps sample gas above its dew point from probe to analyzer, serving flue gas pretreatment equipment, online monitoring equipment, infrared and ultraviolet sampling analyzers and laboratory test equipment with heat resistance up to 230°C. Uniformly braided heating elements, stable high-efficiency insulation and a bend and kink resistant build come in 3/16", 1/4" and 5/16" ID, with voltage, sensor, length and fittings made to order.

Heat-Traced Flue Gas Sample Line for Online Emission Monitoring, IR/UV Analyzers and Laboratory Gas Testing

An emission or process gas analyzer can only report what actually reaches its measuring cell. Between the sampling probe and the analyzer, a flue gas sample travels through several meters of tubing, and if that tubing is colder than the gas, water vapor condenses, soluble components such as acid gases dissolve in the condensate and the reading drifts away from the true stack value. JINGCHENG's heat-traced gas sampling hose is designed to close that gap. It is an electrically heated sample line for flue gas pretreatment equipment, online monitoring equipment, infrared and ultraviolet sampling analyzers and laboratory test equipment, with heat resistance up to 230°C, a bend and kink resistant construction and stable insulation performance.

What Goes Wrong in an Unheated Sample Path

  • Condensation: moisture drops out where the line passes a cold spot, carrying soluble gas components with it.

  • Measurement lag and memory effects: liquid and deposits inside the tubing absorb and release components, slowing the analyzer's response.

  • Blockage and corrosion: acidic condensate and dust can build up in fittings and narrow passages.

  • Damaged tubing: a sample line that kinks around a stack platform or cabinet entry restricts flow and causes leaks.

Keeping the entire sample path at a controlled temperature above the dew point of the gas is the standard way to avoid these problems, and the hose is the longest part of that path.

How the JINGCHENG Sample Line Is Built

Even Heating Along the Full Length

The heating layer is formed by uniformly braided heating elements. Because the heat source surrounds the inner tube evenly, the temperature difference along the inner wall is minimized and there are no cold sections where condensate can form or hot sections that stress the tube.

Insulation Chosen Around Surface Temperature

JINGCHENG selects high-insulation-efficiency materials with the outer surface temperature in mind. The heat stays inside the line, energy consumption is lower and the jacket remains safer to touch on platforms and in analyzer shelters.

Bend and Kink Resistant Construction

Sample lines are routed along walkways, through cable trays and into cabinets. The catalog describes this hose as resistant to bending and folding, so it keeps a clear bore and stable insulation during installation and repeated handling, for example on portable sampling setups.

Temperature Sensing for Closed-Loop Control

A sensor built into the hose (Type J or Type K thermocouple, Ni120, PT100 or PT1000) reports the line temperature to the controller, allowing the line to be held at the set point the analysis method requires.

Reading the JINGCHENG Model Code

A typical code such as JCH-200-16-B-3X220-P2-8 is read as follows: 200 = working temperature 200°C; 16 = inner diameter Φ16 mm; B = inner tube type (B stainless steel corrugated tube, TB PTFE hose with stainless steel braid, T PTFE hose, X special material); 3X220 = supply (220 = 220 V single phase, 3X220 = three-phase four-wire 220 V); P2 = sensor (P2 PT100 two-wire, P3 PT100 three-wire, K Type K, J Type J, W no sensor, T special sensor); 8 = working pressure 8 MPa.

Permitted Operating Environment

  • Ambient temperature -40°C to +55°C, relative humidity not above 85%

  • Atmospheric pressure 86 kPa to 106 kPa; voltage range 12 Vac to 380 Vac

  • No gases that corrode metal or damage insulation, no conductive media and no severe mold in the surroundings; other environments are handled as custom builds

Safe Installation Practice

  • Connect the hose strictly according to its technical data and the pin table delivered with it.

  • Never twist the hose sideways during or after installation; torsion can lead to leakage, flow loss, hose damage or fire.

  • Keep bends generous; over-bending can damage the hose and cause short circuit, leakage or fire.

  • Let only authorized, trained operators handle the hose, ideally a dedicated team.

  • Unauthorized modification or adjustment voids the warranty.

  • For any situation not covered by the instructions, contact JINGCHENG engineers for installation guidance.

Checklist for Specifying a Heated Sample Line

  1. Gas and set point: describe the sample gas, its moisture content and the line temperature your analysis method requires (up to 230°C as standard).

  2. Bore and length: pick 3/16", 1/4" or 5/16" ID for your sample flow and measure the route from probe to analyzer.

  3. Power and control: state supply voltage, required power per meter and the sensor type read by your temperature controller.

  4. Connections: specify the thread standard (US, British or metric) at the probe end and analyzer end, plus the pin layout of the electrical connector.

  5. Route planning: avoid twisting the hose and keep bends generous, particularly next to the fittings.
