PTFE has outstanding chemical resistance, but in its standard form it is also an excellent electrical insulator. When low-conductivity fuels, solvents or coating materials flow quickly through an insulating tube, electrostatic charge can collect on the wall, and a discharge near flammable vapor is a serious ignition risk. JINGCHENG's anti-static PTFE hose range is engineered to control this charge while keeping the properties that make PTFE the material of choice for aggressive media: chemical inertness, very low friction and a working temperature window from -60°C to +260°C. The range is offered in four wall constructions, an anti-static smooth bore hose, an anti-static convoluted hose, an anti-static smooth-ID/convoluted-OD hose and an all-black conductive convoluted hose, so one supplier can cover straight runs, tight routing and fully conductive requirements.
Insulating hoses in chemical, coating and food plants create several problems:
Charge accumulation: fast-moving, low-conductivity liquids and gases generate static on the hose wall
Ignition sources: discharges near solvent vapor, fuel or coating mist can start fires or explosions
Coating defects: static attracts dust and disturbs film quality in static load (electrostatic) coating systems
Material limits: many anti-static rubber hoses cannot withstand strong chemicals or extreme temperatures
Anti-static PTFE combines static control with the chemical and thermal stability of PTFE, which is why it is widely chosen for these services.
PTFE anti-static smooth bore hose: a straight, smooth-wall tube with a clean, low-resistance bore that flushes easily; well suited to straight runs and fixed piping.
PTFE anti-static convoluted hose: a corrugated wall that greatly increases flexibility for compact equipment and moving connections.
PTFE anti-static smooth-ID/convoluted-OD hose: a smooth inner bore for flow and cleaning combined with a convoluted outer wall for flexibility.
PTFE all-black conductive convoluted hose: a fully black conductive convoluted construction for systems that call for conductivity through the whole hose.
High and low temperature durability: withstands -60°C to 260°C, handling high temperature and high pressure without hardening at low temperature.
Dielectric strength: the anti-static PTFE tube can withstand voltages in the range of 50 V to 120 kV.
Low friction coefficient: about 0.1, with static and dynamic coefficients almost the same.
Wear resistance: the smooth, slippery surface provides natural lubrication and a very low static friction coefficient under a 500 psi load.
Light weight: very light and easy to handle and install.
Shock absorption and impact resistance: absorbs vibration and resists impact.
Static control: the key property of the range, helping prevent any form of charge accumulation.
Chemical resistance and water repellency: resists various types of corrosion, repels water and is highly inert to chemicals.
The catalog names four typical application fields:
Chemical liquid treatment: transfer, dosing and sampling of acids, alkalis and solvents in chemical processing
Transportation of flammable liquids: fuel and solvent lines where static discharge must be avoided
Static load coating industry: paint and coating supply lines on electrostatic spraying systems
Food industry: process lines that need PTFE's inert, non-stick surface together with static control

Data source: JINGCHENG PTFE Hose Catalog (PTFE Anti-Static Series). Diameters, wall thickness and lengths are produced according to customer requirements.
A standard PTFE tube gives the same chemical resistance and temperature capability, but because it insulates, charge can build up in fast, low-conductivity flows. For flammable liquids and electrostatic coating, the anti-static range is the safer specification. Compared with anti-static rubber hose, anti-static PTFE stays inert to fuels and aggressive chemicals, remains flexible from -60°C to 260°C and does not absorb water.
Define the medium: state the liquid, gas or coating material, its flammability and its temperature.
Define the static requirement: tell us whether your safety concept requires anti-static or fully conductive hose; this decides between the anti-static constructions and the all-black conductive convoluted hose.
Match flexibility to routing: choose smooth bore for straight runs and easy cleaning, convoluted versions for tight bends or moving parts.
Size and pressure: send inner diameter, flow rate and pressure; for higher pressure duty we can recommend braided constructions.
Grounding and connections: specify fittings and the grounding method so the assembly provides a continuous dissipation path.
Ground the hose assembly and the connected equipment correctly so charge can dissipate.
Align ends before tightening; never twist the hose during installation.
Avoid kinking smooth bore hose; use a convoluted construction where tight bends are unavoidable.
Protect the hose from sharp edges, crushing and abrasion around moving parts.
Inspect regularly for damage or leakage at the fittings and replace worn hose promptly.
JINGCHENG manufactures anti-static and conductive PTFE hose to customer parameters, including inner and outer diameters, wall structure, cut lengths, end fittings, braiding and protective sleeves, for chemical equipment builders, coating system integrators, food machinery manufacturers and distributors. Share your drawings or operating conditions and our engineers will recommend the right construction and quote it promptly.
