Fully Convoluted PTFE Flex Hose from 6.5 mm to 50 mm ID for Tight Routing in Pharmaceutical, Food and Chemical Equipment

JINGCHENG Fully Convoluted PTFE Flex Hose (series JCC-10000-PTFE) has helical convolutions on both the inner and outer wall, so it bends to a minimum radius of 20 mm at 1/4" and 80 mm at 1" for tight routing on pharmaceutical, food and chemical equipment from -70°C to +260°C. Ten standard sizes cover 6.5–50 mm ID (1/4" to 2") at 0.2–0.4 MPa working pressure, and diameters and lengths can be made to your parameters.

This page is a routing guide for the JINGCHENG JCC-10000-PTFE fully convoluted hose: how the convoluted wall makes tight bends possible, what pressure it is designed for, and how to pick a size from the catalog table.

Why Bend Radius Is the First Number to Check

On compact pharmaceutical, food and chemical equipment the hose rarely runs in a straight line. It has to drop from a vessel outlet, turn around a frame member and land on a pump inlet within a few hundred millimetres. A plain PTFE tube cannot do that: in our JCC-00000 smooth-wall range a 1/2" tube needs a 270 mm minimum bend radius and a 1" tube needs 600 mm. The JINGCHENG JCC-10000-PTFE hose solves the routing problem with one change in geometry: both the inner and the outer wall are formed as a continuous helical convolution, so the wall folds like a bellows instead of flattening when it bends.

The result is a bend radius that is a fraction of the straight tube figure: 26 mm at 1/2" and 80 mm at 1", with the smallest size, 1/4", bending down to 20 mm.

Construction in Brief

  • Material: PTFE, a fluoropolymer that is chemically inert to strong acids, alkalis and most organic solvents and keeps a non-stick surface.

  • Wall profile: convoluted inside and outside along the full length, giving very high flexibility.

  • Temperature range: -70°C to +260°C.

  • Appearance: natural white, translucent PTFE, so liquid movement can be seen through the wall.

  • Standard range: 10 sizes from 1/4" (6.5 mm ID) to 2" (50 mm ID).

Where It Is Used

The catalog lists the JCC-10000 series for the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries. In practice that means short flexible connections where space is limited and pressure is low, for example:

  • jumper lines between vessels, receivers and transfer pumps on process skids;

  • connections that must absorb small misalignment or vibration between rigid pipe ends;

  • low-pressure transfer of liquid ingredients, process chemicals and solvents around compact machinery.

Pressure: A Low-Pressure, High-Flexibility Hose

The convoluted wall trades pressure capacity for flexibility. Working pressure is 0.4 MPa from 1/4" to 1/2", 0.3 MPa from 5/8" to 1-1/2" and 0.2 MPa at 2". Burst pressure runs from 1.4 MPa down to 0.8 MPa. If your line runs above these values, see the selection notes below for braided alternatives.

Planning a Route with JCC-10000

  1. Measure the available bend: compare the tightest turn in your layout with the minimum bend radius for the chosen size; stay at or above the listed value.

  2. Confirm the operating pressure: keep system pressure within the working pressure column. The burst figure is a safety margin, not an operating limit.

  3. Allow for the convolutions: the corrugated bore gives more flow resistance than a smooth tube of the same ID, so for long runs consider one size up.

  4. Plan for cleaning: flush the line after each batch so residues do not stay in the convolutions; where a smooth, easy-to-clean bore matters, our JCC-20000 and JCC-21100 hoses combine a smooth inner wall with a convoluted outer wall.

  5. Need more pressure? The JCC-11100 series puts a 304 stainless steel braid over the same type of convoluted PTFE core and raises working pressure to as much as 13.8 MPa at 1/4".

  6. Custom production: inner and outer diameter and cut length can be made to your parameters. Send us the medium, temperature, pressure and routing space for a quotation.
