Electrically Heated Gas Sampling Hose for Flue Gas Pretreatment and Laboratory Analyzers

In gas analysis, the sample is only as good as the line that carries it. When a hot, moist flue gas sample cools on its way from the probe to the analyzer, water vapor can condense, soluble components can be lost in the condensate and the reading no longer represents the stack. JINGCHENG's Gas Sampling Hose is an electrically heated sample line designed to prevent this. It is widely used on flue gas pretreatment equipment, online monitoring equipment, infrared and ultraviolet sampling analyzers and laboratory test equipment, is heat resistant up to 230°C, resists bending and kinking, and keeps a stable temperature along its full length.

Why Gas Analysis Needs a Heated Sample Line

The sample line between the probe and the analyzer has a direct effect on measurement quality:

  • Condensation: if the sample drops below its dew point, moisture condenses inside the line

  • Sample loss: gas components that dissolve in condensate or stick to cold surfaces can be under-reported

  • Blockage and corrosion: condensate and particulates can build up and shorten the life of the line and downstream components

  • Unstable readings: cold spots along the route cause the sample condition to drift between measurements

A heated gas sampling hose keeps the sample at a controlled temperature from the probe to the conditioning unit or analyzer.

Construction and Working Principle

Heating Layer

The heating layer is made of uniformly braided heating elements wrapped around the inner hose. Because the heat is distributed evenly, the temperature difference along the inner wall is kept to a minimum and the line has no cold spots where condensate can form.

Insulation

High-insulation-efficiency materials surround the heating layer. They are selected with the hose surface temperature in mind, so heat stays in the sample line, energy loss is reduced and the outer surface stays safer to handle.

Flexibility

The hose is bend and kink resistant, so it can be routed around cabinets, platforms and laboratory benches without collapsing the bore, and it holds its insulation performance in service.

Sensor and Control

A temperature sensor (Type J or Type K thermocouple, Ni120, PT100 or PT1000) can be built into the hose so that your controller can hold the sample line at its set point.

Key Features

  • Heat resistance up to 230°C (higher temperatures available on request)

  • Uniformly braided heating elements for an even inner-wall temperature with no cold spots

  • High-efficiency insulation designed around the hose surface temperature

  • Bend and kink resistant with stable insulation performance

  • Small-bore sizes for sampling: 3/16", 1/4" and 5/16" ID in the catalog

  • Built to order: voltage, power, sensor, length, fittings and wiring to match your system

Applications

The Gas Sampling Hose is used wherever a gas sample must reach the analyzer without condensing or changing composition:

  • Flue gas pretreatment equipment: heated transfer from the sampling probe to the sample conditioning unit

  • Online monitoring equipment: continuous stack and process gas monitoring systems

  • Infrared and ultraviolet sampling analyzers: heated lines for IR and UV gas analysis

  • Portable flue gas sampling: flexible heated lines for mobile test sets

  • Laboratory test equipment: heated sample lines for bench analyzers and test rigs

How to Read the Model Code

JINGCHENG heated hoses are identified by a model code such as JCH-200-16-B-3X220-P2-8:

  • 200: working temperature in °C (200 = 200°C)

  • 16: hose inner diameter in mm (16 = Φ16)

  • B: inner tube material (B = stainless steel corrugated tube; TB = PTFE hose with stainless steel braid; T = PTFE hose; X = special material)

  • 3X220: working voltage (220 = 220 V; 3X220 = three-phase four-wire 220 V)

  • P2: temperature sensor (P2 = PT100 two-wire; P3 = PT100 three-wire; K = Type K thermocouple; J = Type J thermocouple; W = no sensor; T = special sensor)

  • 8: working pressure in MPa (8 = 8 MPa)

Operating Environment

  • Ambient temperature: -40°C to +55°C

  • Relative humidity: not more than 85%

  • Atmospheric pressure: 86 kPa to 106 kPa

  • Voltage range: 12 Vac to 380 Vac

  • The surrounding medium should not contain gases that corrode metal or damage insulation, or conductive media, and severe mold must not be present. For special environments, contact us for a customized hose.

Installation and Safety Tips

  • Wire the hose according to its technical parameters and the pin table supplied with it.

  • Do not twist the hose sideways during or after installation; lateral twisting can cause leakage, flow loss, hose damage or fire.

  • Avoid sharp bends; bending the hose too tightly can damage it and cause short circuit, leakage or fire.

  • The hose should be operated only by authorized and trained personnel, ideally the same dedicated operators.

  • Unauthorized modification or adjustment of the hose voids the warranty.

  • If you meet a problem not covered by the instructions, contact us so that our engineers can guide the installation.

How to Order

  1. Inquiry: send us your requirements by phone, fax or the inquiry form.

  2. Specification confirmation: our engineers propose the most suitable specification as a quotation reference.

  3. Quotation: we issue a quotation; you confirm with a purchase order.

  4. Production: the hose is built in our factory to the confirmed specification.

  5. Inspection and packing: every hose is checked for defects and packed.

  6. Shipment: the hose is shipped to your designated address.

How to Select the Right Gas Sampling Hose

  • Sample temperature: tell us the set point the line must hold (standard heat resistance up to 230°C) and the gas you are sampling.

  • Size and length: choose the inner diameter for your sample flow (3/16", 1/4" or 5/16" in the catalog) and the length from the probe to the analyzer or conditioning unit.

  • Electrical: specify the supply voltage (380 Vac, 220 Vac, 110 Vac or 12 Vdc), the power per meter and the sensor type your controller accepts.

  • Connections: give the thread standard at each end (US, British or metric) and the connector and pin layout.

  • Routing: plan the route so the hose is not twisted or bent sharply, especially next to the fittings.
